For the first time, the Breeders' Cup was held in Chicago and in picturesque Arlington Park. After a week of cold, wind and rain in Chicago, Arlington Park welcomed 50-degree weather with cloudy skies and a light breeze for its first Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships. A sold-out crowd of 46,118 people came to witness the most important day in motor racing.
