332. “What adventure are we going to have today” – Jimmy Berry

For the past 21.5 years, Paramedic Lt. Jimmy Berry has enjoyed working in the busiest businesses. His longest and most enjoyable stint was with Truck 30, Orange County, FL Fire Rescue. When Jimmy shows up at the fire station on each tour, the questions "What adventure are we going on today?" tend to be their theme. Going to fires is the norm, but the truck also carries rescue work at America's most prestigious theme parks. /"America's Truck/" is a good place to work and Jimmy enjoys the family feeling at the fire station. He is passionate about family; his own as well as those he rides on each tour. His infectious smile would lead you to believe that this job has always been good to him, but in fact, there was a time when he wanted to leave. The task can become heavy and have harmful consequences on our employees. Jimmy was not exempt from this aspect of the job that he grew to love. After overcoming this difficult time, Jimmy learned to love his job and what it has to offer. Learning to manage the emotional stress of the job has become an important part of how he navigates the firehouse today. Enjoy what you have and what you do.
