3rd Century Crisis of the Roman Empire DOCUMENTARY

The Crisis of the Third Century was one of the events that brought the Roman Empire to the brink of collapse: economic crisis, internal conflicts and foreign incursions continued for decades, while around fifty Emperors and pretenders vied for the throne. A number of political and military leaders, including Odaenathus, Aurelian, and Diocletian, attempted to keep the Empire's territory intact, while a number of Germanic tribes and the new Sasanian Empire attacked it relentlessly. New states called the Palmyrian Empire and the Gallic Empire were founded and the Roman Empire was truly divided.
