After visiting both Auschwitz sites, Auschwitz should be seen as a preservation of something terrible and a harsh reminder of one of the darkest periods in human history and not just a tourist attraction . The tour itself is very different from what you have read and seen on TV, it is difficult to imagine the scale and magnitude of the atrocities of what happened here when you tour the camps.

Most of Camp 1 remains in good condition compared to the 2nd camp, many horrors have occurred in this camp with a lot of experimentation especially on women.

Camp 2 was largely destroyed by the Nazis as they attempted to erase what happened there as Soviet forces closed in. What remains still tells the story of the horror that happened there and what remains of the destroyed crematoriums and gas chambers.

Auschwitz concentration camp is definitely a place that everyone should visit, it's a place where you can see history with your own eyes.
