As was the case for me, many people affected by substance use disorders feel lost in their illness. Illness became my identity, so finding sobriety meant I was stripped of it and had to start again. This is the greatest gift that recovery gives us. We have the opportunity to start over and finally become the person who aligns with our core values. Recovery gave me my identity and taught me that I can be accepted as I am.
Blake Cohen is a Florida Certification Board Certified Addiction Professional, a Certified Life Coach, holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Florida Atlantic University, and is currently earning his master's degree in leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Fueled by his passion, education, and professional, personal, and family experiences with addiction, Blake aims to help those who have been directly or indirectly affected by substance use disorders toward a path of understanding and healing .
