Why I make videos on preliminary notes:
It's a fun exercise to see how I think these players will perform for these teams, what these coaches and players can work on to make these grades look wrong in a few years, vice versa, as well as what these drafts might give us. say. a certain team's plans or opinions on the existing players on its roster or the types of schemes it is looking to implement.
DRAFT RATING CRITERIA
DAYS 1 & 2
“S” – Certified Flight
• Verification of needs, fit between team and program and value is better than expected
"A"
• Team/program value, needs, and fit are all verified
“B”
• Good choice, but one of the following conditions applies
o The player was slightly within reach
o Position value in question (1st round only)
o The team passed on a better player to the team's position
o The team ignored the value during a major need (1st round only)
o The team/scheme fit is called into question
o An otherwise "C" rated pick due to value and/or better players available, but a huge hole at a value position (QB, OT, WR, ED, DT, CB) was fixed in the first round with a consistently good player. this would not have been available to the team later
"VS"
• Good choice, but two of the following criteria apply
o The player was slightly within reach
o Position value in question (1st round only)
o The team passed on a better player to the team's position
o The team ignored the value during a major need with (1st round only)
o The team/scheme fit is called into question
“D”
• The choice is in question because three of the following conditions apply
o The player was slightly injured
o Position value in question (1st round only)
o The team passed on a better player to the team's position
o The team ignored the value during a major need with (1st round only)
o The team/scheme fit is called into question
OR Player had a major reach
“F”
• A truly inexplicable player choice was of major significance, AND the team passed on a better player at the team's position, team/scheme fit is in question, or the team ignored value for major need or place value is in question (1st Round only)
/"-/" Can be applied if the selection requires a high exchange price
"" For a reach following a drop
DAY 3
Certified flight (purple)
• The team stole a player who had a Day 1 or 2 grade and has a legitimate chance to become an impact player.
Excellent choice (green)
• The team found above-average value and a player with a legitimate chance to start in the first two seasons with the team OR a great player at a key position right away (goal linebacker, starting point guard). line D n°3, TE2, rear). , kick returner, etc.)
Good choice (blue)
• The value aligns and the player is in for a big project or opportunity to succeed as a starter or key player compared to most Day 3 picks.
Solid pick (white)
• No notable criticism of the pick, but expectations should be falsified as with any Day 3 pick.
Scope / I'll regret not taking… / Not a fan (Orange)
• (Rounds 4 and 5 only) The player had notable range and/or significantly better players would have been better picks, but the player still had a draftable grade.
• (Rounds 6 and 7) Player was evaluated and did not have a draftable grade.
Massive Range (Red)
• (Rounds 4 and 5 only) The team chose a player who did not have a draftable grade OR who reached multiple rounds while having several better options for the position.
