Paul Stuart, a famous food writer, finds himself distraught after his long-term girlfriend leaves him for his personal trainer. To cheer him up, Paul's editor Gloria encourages him to finish his latest cookbook on location in Tuscany, hoping that a change of scenery (plus the occasional truffle pasta and a drink of red wine) will offer a remedy to both the heartache and the writer. block. But when Paul arrives, things don't go as planned. An incident with his rental car reservation leaves him stranded, until a new friend leads him to an intriguing alternative: a bulldozer. With little choice in the matter, Paul accepts the offer, and as he heads (well, slowly) towards the idyllic hillside town of Montalcino, he discovers that the bulldozer may be the least surprises awaiting him. What follows is a delightful adventure through the lush landscapes and flavors of the Tuscan countryside, as Paul encounters a rich cast of characters, including a young American woman who awakens something unexpected in him.
