Arkham Horror LCG Review (Revised Core Set) – Help My Wallet?
Fantasy Flight Games has released a new revised core set for the Arkham Horror card game! This living card game is constantly printing new cards in a unique blend of role-playing and deck-building. Like a classic Lovecraftian board game, 1 to 4 players will each choose an investigator and a scenario. The main objective of the victory conditions will not be known yet, as you will have to complete the objectives of the act cards. Turn after turn, you'll perform actions that ultimately advance the storyline and draw encounter cards along the way. As always, the flavor text is on point here, the monsters are particularly menacing, the locations create an excellent setting, and the signs of the elders activate impressive character abilities! The card game is excellent with a wide variety of ways to play with the game mechanics and strategize on how to use your resources. However, Arkham Horror LCG only has 3 scenarios (although it's more like 2.5), and for $60, is that enough bang for your buck? And would you even prefer card-based gameplay to other Lovecraftian games like Eldritch Horror or Mansions of Madness?
