Leah, Agnes, Talia and Julie are four women sharing a uniquely privileged life of titles and luxury. James, the Marquess of Salisbury, son of the Duchess of Dorset and owner of the school, immediately becomes intrigued and struck by Leah after meeting her in the school grounds. He keeps trying to find ways to spend time with her every day and he wants them to be inseparable.
As time and feelings progress, Leah's education is almost over and she thinks it is best to distance herself from James, as there could never be a future for them due to his lower class and his situation. But she doesn't know it, James has other ideas…
Will he be able to convince Leah to stay with him despite what their odds and society have to say about it?

***** I really enjoyed reading this story. The four ladies are looking to change their lives. It was very difficult for them to lose their financial wealth and find that everyone they considered friends and even family was casting them adrift. Very funny story! Appreciate
***** This is an excellent book by Fanny. Women struggle to survive what society imposes on them. Of course, there is a happy ending, but with a lot of drama, twists and turns. It's great to see how their relationship evolves. It's a must read.
