Billie Holiday (1915-1959): Lady In Satin, complete album, with Ray Ellis (1923-2008) and his orchestra, from February 1958. Jazz/Blues masterpiece. This was Billie's last album released during her lifetime, Billie's final studio recordings were released after her death in July 1959 at the age of 44. It was said to be Billie's favorite album. I love Billie Holiday so much I could listen to her sing 24/7, and this album is one of the best ever recorded. Billie was truly unique. You can't listen to it without knowing it's Billie Holiday singing. She was one of a kind. How lucky we all are that she left us such wonderful music.
