The Achaemenid Empire, also known as the Persian Empire, took place between 550 and 330 BCE. The empire existed in what is now modern Iran and also encompassed parts of Central Asia. It was the largest empire in the world at the time of its existence, with three centuries of power. In fact, the Achaemenid Empire was considered one of the most powerful empires to ever exist, and even today it is considered one of the most enduring empires in human history.
