Calm and ease guided meditation by Thich Nhat Hanh
This is a 20-minute guided meditation offered by Thich Nhat Hanh, part of the Plum Village Essential Meditations in the free Plum Village app.

By inspiring, I know that I am inspiring.
As I exhale, I know that I am exhaling.
And in,
and outside.

After saying these sentences, we can abbreviate them by saying /"In/" when we inhale and /"Out/" when we exhale. We don't try to control our breathing. Whether our inhale is long or short, deep or shallow, we simply breathe naturally and shine the light of mindfulness onto it. When we do this, we notice that our breathing actually becomes slower and deeper.
naturally.

**As I inhaled, my inspiration became deep.**
**As I exhaled, my exhalation became slow. **
**Deep,**
**Slow.**

We don't have to go the extra mile. It just gets deeper and slower, and we recognize that. Later, you will notice that you have become calmer and more at ease.

**By breathing in, I calm my body and my mind. **
**By exhaling, I relieve everything.**
**Calm,**
**Ease.**

I don't struggle anymore.

/"As I breathe in, I smile. As I breathe out, I release all my worries and anxieties. Smile/release./" We are able to smile and release all our worries. There are over three hundred muscles in our face, and when we know how to inhale and smile, these muscles can relax. This is “mouth yoga”. We smile and are able to release all our feelings and emotions.

**By breathing in, I establish myself in the present moment.**
**As I exhale, I know this is a wonderful moment.**
**Present time,**
**wonderful moment.**

Nothing is more precious than being fully alive and aware of the present moment.

**Enter exit**
**Deep, slow**
**Calm, ease**
**Smile, release**
**Present moment, wonderful moment.**

If you use this poem during a sitting or walking meditation, it can be very nourishing and healing. Practice each line for as long as you want
