ch 2) Draw the color line
chapter 2: A People's History (of the United States) Howard Zinn.
Chapter 2, /"Drawing the Color Line/" addresses the African slave trade and the servitude of poor Britons in the Thirteen Colonies. Zinn describes the methods by which he believes racism was artificially created in order to strengthen the economic system. He argues that racism is unnatural because there are recorded instances of camaraderie and cooperation between black slaves and white servants to escape and oppose their enslavement.
