Author Keely Parrak joins us for children's story time to read her new picture book, Morning, Sunshine!, illustrated by John Bajet. As we all wake up, the outside world is teeming with life! Discover new facts about familiar creatures – from fluttering moths and scurrying beetles to shy foxes and bumblebees – as they go about their morning activities. In the city, in the countryside or in the suburbs, nature is everywhere! A series of haikus takes readers on a close-up observational look at the incredible abundance of nature just outside our homes. Each stanza focuses on an aspect of the natural world or a creature going about its daily activities as the sun begins to rise. Alongside the haiku, informational text delves deeper into each topic – from how much honey a bee can produce to the size of a hummingbird egg.
