Climbing Levels EXPLAINED
Climbing Levels EXPLAINED
In this short tutorial aimed at climbing beginners, I explain how to read, understand and interpret climbing notes or reviews. I discuss the meaning of the Yosemite Decimal System (YDS) for route climbing and the V-Scale or Hueco Scale for bouldering. These two rating systems are used in the United States to describe route difficulty and boulder problems in indoor and outdoor climbing. I also fall into PG, PG13, R and X ratings for outdoor climbs. I hope this video answers any questions new climbers might have about the climbing levels they've seen in guidebooks, at the climbing gym, or on their outdoor rocks and boulders.
