I might take some heat for this one, but I'm not a huge fan of couples therapy – mainly because I haven't seen it associated with a very high success rate. In this episode, I give several reasons why this may be the case and argue that – if therapy is necessary – most issues can be resolved more productively in individual counseling. It is very difficult to tell the truth that only one person can hear; it is almost impossible to tell the truth if two people can hear simultaneously.
