In the spring of 1277, Prioress Eleanor went on a pilgrimage to a famous East Anglian shrine. There are rumors that King Edward may soon visit the shrine to seek God's blessing for his invasion of Wales. However, there is an assassin hiding in this sacred place who hopes to assassinate a king.
Shortly after the arrival of Prioress Eleanor and Brother Thomas, a nun falls to her death from the priory bell tower. Brother Thomas finds the body and the two men quickly understand that the death of this nun is not an accident. The circumstances suggest murder, but this murder is further tainted by treason. Among the pilgrims, merchants and clerics, too many express an interest in this death, including a cunning street child. At least one of them is most definitely a killer.
Will Prioress Eleanor and Brother Thomas succeed in unmasking the murderer, or will they also be victims of the one who has made an alliance with hell?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Priscilla Royal grew up in British Columbia, earned a degree in world literature from San Francisco State University, and worked for the federal government in various positions. She is the author of the Medieval Mystery series featuring Eleanor, Prioress of Tyndal, and she is a member of the Mystery Writers of America, the California Writers Club, and Sisters in Crime.
Wanda McCaddon began recording books in the early 1980s and has since narrated over six hundred titles, as well as abridged, narrated, and co-produced classic titles for her own company, Big Ben. Audiobook listeners may know her voice by one of her two mic names, Donada Peters and Nadia May. The recipient of an Audie nomination and twenty-five Headphones Awards, AudioFile magazine named her one of the Golden Voices of recording.
