The first novel in the series to explore supernatural elements, Dexter in the Dark was released on September 18, 2007 in the United States and October 3, 2007 in the United Kingdom. The Dexter TV series Season 1 DVD provides access to the first two chapters of Dexter in the Dark when viewed on a computer, further revealing that the book was originally scheduled for release earlier in the year.
