Big Finish's own UNIT family returns for a seven-part full-length audio drama filled with government conspiracy, military politics and alien technology, out today.

Tim Treloar (the Third Doctor), Daisy Ashford (Liz Shaw) and Jon Culshaw (the Brigadier) are back in action behind the mics, creating an authentic 1970s (or is it 1980s?) soundscape in a brand new adventure written by Eddie. Robson.

The Doctor and Liz Shaw investigate a disturbing incident in the quiet Norfolk village of Huncleath involving a missing Nazi soldier. Is time travel technology to blame? And what is the connection between the disappearance of the village's richest resident, Francis Teeling, and the anti-war activists in Cambridge?

As the Brigadier mobilizes UNIT, a secret branch of the British military has serious concerns about UNIT's scientific advisor, Dr. Elizabeth Shaw.

In the ensuing struggle, Liz must connect with her past, think about her future, and battle both incarceration and an unusual alien weapon. And despite his best efforts, the Doctor may not be able to help him!

Writer Eddie Robson said: “It's always nice to be asked to do something you've never tackled before, and I've written very little for the Third Doctor in any medium. . I really like the Pertwee era – several stories were among my first VHS purchases and I watched them a lot. The tapes Inferno, Terror of the Autons, The Claws of Axos, The Three Doctors and The Pertwee Years are all deeply ingrained in my brain.

“Intelligence for War is a very earthy TV thriller that begins with the Doctor and Liz investigating apparent time slips in a Norfolk village. But Liz is suspected of security breaches and very quickly, no one really knows who to trust.

Director and writer Nicholas Briggs added: “It was a real highlight for me to work with Eddie again. I've never forgotten how much he really sparked my enthusiasm back in 2006 with his brilliant Eighth Doctor Cyberman storyline, Human Resources (recently re-released as part of The Eighth Doctor and Lucie Miller Series One downloadable compilation). And frankly, he has never disappointed me since. He did all sorts of other exciting things and I was worried he would be too busy to join me.

“It’s also great to work with Luke Pietnik again on sound design. I composed the incidental music and Luke and I always have a great time working together. She is one of the kindest and most polite people I have ever met. His work is almost always perfect from the first draft.
