Due to the high notoriety of the story of the evil Count of Transylvania and the success of the numerous film adaptations created over the years, modern audiences have not had the opportunity to truly appreciate the unconscious terror that readers would have felt while reading Bram Stoker's original manuscript from 1897. Most modern productions use camp or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we tried something different. Returning to Stoker's original narrative structure – a series of letters and diary entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing and other characters – with a cast of prominent narrators, we sought to recapture the horror and power initially planned. .
This production of Dracula is presented by what is probably the best gathering of storytelling talent ever seen for an audiobook: Emmy Award nominees Alan Cumming and Tim Curry and an all-star cast including Simon Vance (The Millenium Trilogy) , Audie Award winners, Katherine Kellgren.
