Paul Johnson's excellent brief biography of Winston Churchill is considered by many to be the best short biography of all. Others differ, but none complain – is superbly written and, like all of Johnson's writing, erudite and insightful.

PAUL JOHNSON (1928-2023) was an eminent English journalist and historian. He began writing as a Liberal in the 1950s but, during the Thatcher era, he became one of the prime minister's staunchest supporters and, indeed, a speechwriter. His many books, including A History of the American Peoples and Modern Times, are still widely read. His columns in The Spectator from 1981 to 2009 were subsequently widely read and controversial.
EVAN HANDLER is best known for playing Harry Goldenblatt in /"Sex and the City/" and its current spin-off /"And Just Like That…," as well as for his role as Agent Charlie Runkle in /" Californication./" He was a member of the original cast of /"Six Degrees of Separation/" in its. premiered at the Lincoln Center Theater and starred, quite famously, on Broadway in /"I Hate Hamlet/". He is the author of two books, "Time On Fire: My Comedy of Terrors," about his brutal, but successful, battle with leukemia, and "It's Only Temporary…The Good News and the Bad News to be alive./"
