When Margarita Rosario was dug up at the La Colonia cemetery in Jarabacoa, she was found to still have a full head of hair, some skin and enough bone to be able to stand with little support, relatives told Jam Press.
Video shot outside the cemetery shows a man holding the corpse while a woman dresses him in a white nightgown. A small group gathered to observe the aftermath of the exhumation, some of whom filmed the scene.
Local residents also expressed shock at how Rosario had been preserved.
Others were not happy that the family was disturbing their grandmother's rest.
“Now let poor grandma rest, wow,” one said.
“But why did they need to remove it?” » asked a second person. “They don’t even let the dead rest in peace anymore. »
The family did not say why they exhumed the body.
