CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATER is a radio drama series created and directed by Himan Brown that aired on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982. Later, in the early 2000s, the show was repeated by the satellite feed NPR.

The format was similar to classic radio shows of yesteryear like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler, in that episodes were presented by host EG Marshall who provided concise wisdom and commentary throughout. Unlike the hosts of these previous programs, Marshall is completely mortal, simply someone whose heightened insight and erudition immerse the listener in the world of the macabre.

CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATER aired every weeknight, initially with a new program each night. Later in the series, three or four episodes were new originals each week, and the rest were repeated. There have been 1,399 original episodes.
