For All Saints - LSB 677 (Te Deum Lecture - 2015 MI)
For All Saints – LSB 677 (Te Deum Lecture – 2015 MI)
Rejoice in God's gift of hymnody, recorded at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan during the 2015 Higher Things youth conferences.

1 For all the saints who rest from their labors,
Who You, by faith, confessed before the world,
Your name, O Jesus, be blessed forever.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

2 You were their rock, their fortress, and their power;
You, Lord, their captain in the well-fought battle;
You, in the darkness, their only true light.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

3 Oh, may your soldiers, faithful, true and bold,
Fight like the saints who once fought nobly
And win the winner's golden crown with them!
Alleluia! Alleluia!

4 Oh, holy communion, divine communion!
We struggle weakly, they shine in glory;
Yet all are one in You, for all are Yours.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

5 And when the battle is fierce, the war long,
The distant song of triumph flies into your ear,
And hearts are brave again and arms are strong.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

6 The golden evening lights up in the west;
Soon, soon rest will come to the faithful warriors;
Sweet is the calm of paradise, the blessed.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

7 But behold, a still more glorious day is dawning:
The saints rise triumphantly in luminous ranks;
The King of Glory continues on his way.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

D 8 From the vast borders of the earth, from the farthest coast of the ocean,
Through the gates streams of pearls into the innumerable army,
Sing to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
