Gagarin-class starship and Starfleet Yard 39

The Shepard class served with distinction during the war against the Klingon Empire in 2257 and one of its lines was the USS Gagarin. In the Star Trek Online storyline, Yard 39 saw the reintroduction of these ships and their conversion to ships suitable for the 25th century.
Then Star Trek Picard added them to canon in 2401, so let's analyze and break down this ship and its lore.
