History is full of harrowing tales of Emperor Genghis Khan and his brutal exploits. Despite the negative praise he received, his name remains in the history books as one of the most powerful rulers in the East.
Belonging to Mongolia, he ruled with an iron fist and united all the tribes there. He is said to have been born with a clenched fist, announcing his supremacy as a leader.
The Mongol Empire became the largest contiguous empire from Eastern Europe to the Pacific Ocean.
Genghis Khan believed that a man's strength was defined by the offspring he left behind and he was loyal to the fact that he had a large harem and fathered many children.
Another interesting feature of the Mongols is that most of their lineage is male because the Y chromosome is present in greater numbers.
Genghis Khan massacred more men than Stalin and Hitler combined. Often, entire civilian populations were wiped out under his leadership.
A number of strange ideas are found in his mandate. Although known for his brutality, he practiced religious tolerance. He had great respect for women.
He modernized Mongolian culture by adopting the Uyghur script and following the Yassa code of law.
Genghis Khan made it clear that promotions to senior executives were not based on a person's clan or aristocracy but on loyalty and merit. This is perhaps the reason why its success was unprecedented in the East.
He was a master tactician and often employed very innovative ideas to conquer territories. He even used prisoners as shields before ambushing his enemy. He also favored civil war in the area he wanted to occupy, then took over the reins.
Genghis Khan died in 1227. It is said that a Chinese princess was responsible for his death, but the most likely theory is that he was thrown from his horse and died. Others attributed it to illness.
Even today he is popular among the Mongols and is considered the father of the Mongols. #theopenbook #Education #Educational Videos #Studyiq #learn #Cbse #icse #ssc #generalknowledge
