How Nazism Survived in Germany Gehlen Organization
Right-wing extremism is experiencing a sharp increase in the Federal Republic of Germany. The far-right AfD party, with openly fascist elements, has become the second most popular party according to recent polls. In this series, we explore the history of Nazi-contaminated institutions in the German state, such as the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Germany's secret intelligence agency, which evolved from the Gehlen Organization, organized by the CIA – in collaboration with NATO – in their common fight against communism inside and outside Germany.
