ABSTRACT
What is the difference between great developers and good developers? It's not about language or tools, but a set of other skills and attributes. Being good at programming requires much more than a good understanding of syntax or an encyclopedic knowledge of libraries and frameworks. Learning to program well is something that takes a lot of time and requires some talent, but people who excel at it seem to share certain skills.
In this episode, Dave Farley, who has worked with many great programmers, describes what he sees as the difference between people who appear to do great work and those who don't. It's not just about programming tips, but there's some here too, and it's not always how we learn to program, it's about how we approach problems and build solutions with which we can live and evolve over time and how we deal with other people while we do so.
