Here's the good news for all the comic book fans among you. In 2014, Amazon acquired digital comics platform Comixology.com. Comixology has a catalog of approximately 25,000 comic books, graphic novels and manga. It offers dedicated reading apps for Android, iOS and Kindle Fire. But you can also read comics on the Kindle.
Yes, I know, the Kindle Paperwhite screen is only monochrome and does not display any color.
I'm sure there are some comics that don't make much sense without color. But hey, Batman in Gotham City? Who needs color for that? I really like it actually. Does it sound a bit like Sin City? Do you remember the film Film Noir with Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba and Mickey Rourke? Very cool…

When you open a comic book on your Kindle, you'll see a cool feature that Amazon developed while reading comic books. This is the Panel view. Each image on the comic page is full screen on your Kindle.
It's really easy to use. You don't need to do more than double-tap the very first panel of the book, then scroll forward like you're used to by dragging or tapping the margin.
With each new page, you will first get a preview of the entire page without changing anything. On the next press, the Kindle zooms to the first panel, then opens one at a time.
At first, it's a bit of an unusual experience to read a comic book on an e-reader. But if the story is good after a while, you can really get into it.

You'll find plenty of reading materials if you go to the Kindle store, open all the categories and browse comics and manga.

If you're a Prime member, also take a look at your Prime Reading section. My German subscription also includes a number of free comics from Marvel, DC and a few other publishers.
