The first thing to do is find out if your chain is connected by a pin or a quick link. If you have a quick link, you can technically remove the chain with your bare hands. Keep in mind, however, that when it comes to resizing your chain, you can only cut it to size using a chain tool.
If you don't have your old chain on hand, or have changed your gear ratios and need a new chain size, we also have a safe way to find the right chain length for your bike !
It is best to check the chain for wear regularly. If you leave it too long, it will damage your entire transmission.
