How to Write the Hero's Arc
How many times have we read or seen characters act in unconvincing ways? We describe these characters as cardboard, inauthentic, forced.

There are many things that go into writing compelling characters, but one of the most important is matching your characters' developmental arcs to the state of their moral and ethical development. Heroes must behave in a way that reflects their moral and psychological status, as much as their physical prowess.

This video gives an overview of the writing of the hero's arc in reference to Edge of Tomorrow. The film stars Tom Cruise as Major William Cage. It is directed by Doug Liman and written by Christopher McQuarrie, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. This is a 3 Arts Entertainment production.
