The Image: This is a film that is indeed very special to some people – a sort of secret – in this case Matthew Keller who requested this special scene where Polly and Gabrielle discuss when a photograph can be called art (Gabrielle: Can't you like it or not and leave it at that?). It's not really a genuine, direct conversation, because there are many lines of desire and repression pulsing through the room – as well as secrets and lies – and it seems like Polly's heart is sitting. Polly who no one really considers as a viable artist/photographer, a lover – or maybe even as a person. Who knows?
