In this episode of Minutes With, we had the privilege of sitting down with the inspiring Innocent Opwonya, a former Ugandan child soldier. Kidnapped at the age of 10, Innocent was forced to join Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army. He shares the harrowing events of his kidnapping, his indoctrination into the group, obtaining his first weapon, and the brutal beatings inflicted by the soldiers.

After escaping and successfully building a life in Germany, Innocent now works to connect young people in northern Uganda with sponsors and runs a local soccer club in Hulu called Blue Zone. It brings together young people, most of whom are unemployed, facilitates matchmaking and monthly support for them and their families.
