Mosab Abu Toha is an award-winning Palestinian poet, short story writer and essayist from Gaza.

He was born in 1992 in the Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza, to Palestinian refugees. Mosab studied English at Gaza University and taught the subject in UNRWA schools.

He then went to the United States for a research fellowship at the Department of Comparative Literature at Harvard University and holds an MFA in poetry from Syracuse University.

Mosab is known for his book “Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear: Poems from Gaza” which won the 2022 Palestine Book Award.

He is also the founder of the Edward Said Library and contributed to the book “Light in Gaza”.

Mosab has been featured in various American publications, including the New Yorker, the Washington Post, the New York Times Magazine, the Atlantic, and the Nation, where he wrote about the situation in Gaza.

In 2023, he was temporarily detained by Israeli authorities, causing international outcry, and then released.

His work reflects the experiences and challenges of life in Gaza, and he is recognized for his writings in English, which he sees as a way of expressing his freedom from Gaza's confinement.
