Institutes of the Christian Religion: Vol #1 by John Calvin [Audiobook] Systematic Theology
/“The Institutes of the Christian Religion/” is a founding work by John Calvin, the Protestant reformer who lived in the 16th century. It is a systematic theology that offers an in-depth exploration of Christian doctrine and a comprehensive guide to the Christian life.

The first book of Institutes focuses on knowledge of God, with Calvin asserting that true knowledge of God is the foundation of all Christian theology and practice. It begins by discussing the nature and attributes of God, affirming that God is one, eternal, unchanging, and infinite in power, wisdom, and goodness.

Calvin then moves on to discuss the knowledge of God available to humanity, arguing that God has revealed himself in two ways: through nature and through Scripture. It emphasizes the importance of Scripture as the primary source of knowledge of God and as the standard for all Christian doctrine and practice.

The book concludes with a discussion of God's knowledge as it relates to humanity, arguing that humanity is inherently sinful and in need of salvation. Calvin emphasizes the importance of faith in Jesus Christ as the only way to be reconciled with God and obtain salvation.

Throughout the book, Calvin's writings are characterized by his deep respect for God and his emphasis on God's sovereignty in all aspects of life. His ideas about the nature of God and the relationship between God and humanity continue to exert influence on Christian theology today.

JEAN CALVIN
John Calvin (1509-1564) was a prominent theologian and pastor of the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. He was born in France and trained as a lawyer before his conversion to Protestantism led him to study theology.

Calvin is best known for his many writings, notably his systematic theology "Institutes of the Christian Religion", which provided a comprehensive exposition of Protestant theology and became the cornerstone of Reformed theology. His emphasis on God's sovereignty, predestination, and the centrality of Scripture had a significant impact on Protestant theology, particularly in the Reformed and Presbyterian traditions.
