Keeping the Heart Christian Audiobook by John Flavel
Description of the audiobook
The heart of man is its worst part before it is regenerated, and its best part afterwards. It is the seat of principles and the source of actions.

The greatest difficulty in conversion is winning the heart to God. The greatest difficulty after conversion is to keep the heart with God. Guidance and assistance in this great work is the scope of the text in which we have:

* An exhortation: Guard your heart with all diligence.
* The reason or motive which imposes it: Because this is where the problems of life come from.

In the exhortation we will consider:
* The question of duty.
* The way of executing it.

Because it is from it [the heart] that the issues of life come. In other words, the heart is the source of all vital operations; it is the origin of good and evil, just like the spring in a watch that sets all the cogs in motion. The heart is the treasure, the hand and the tongue are only the stores. The heart instructs, and the members execute; for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks (Luke 6:45).
