The 1960 presidential cycle featured former Senator John F. Kennedy of Massachusetts, the Democratic candidate, and Vice President Richard Nixon, the Republican. The fourth debate, part of the campaign's first series of televised debates, featured an hour-long discussion focused on foreign affairs. Moderated by ABC's Quincy Howe, with questions posed by a panel of journalists, the debate took place on October 21, 1960 in New York.
