'KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON' – A Sermon by Reverend Barbara Prose
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Barbara Prose, executive director of the ministry.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SERMON:

November is Native American Heritage Month, and Oklahoma is in the news with Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. David Grann's nonfiction book is on bestseller lists across the country and the story happened here. The town names are familiar: Pawhuska, Fairfax, Gray Horse. Right here, 100 years ago, members of the Osage Nation became the wealthiest people per capita in the world after the discovery of oil on their lands. Many were mysteriously murdered. During my group discussion of the book, I listened to my fellow Tulsans talk about memory and responsibility. We talked about forgetting, forgiving and forgiving. But we left the meeting without understanding what our responsibility is to address the wrongs of the past. Join me as we continue the conversation.
