Dunmininu Dahunsi was engaged to Akin Thomas when she met Ben Brown. Her decision to end her engagement to Akin and marry Ben was met with some concern by her parents who believed she had raised a godly daughter who knew God's will for her life.
Their concern increased when they learned that she was willing to take the risk of marrying Ben who had recently discovered he had sickle cell disease, which should not make marrying him an option for her . She was also a carrier.
She tried to convince her parents to take a leap of faith and accept her decision; a battle that seemed impossible to win given the circumstances.
