The Lost Bride trilogy begins with an excellent first opus! I was quickly drawn into the story with the introduction of the first bride. It was a very dramatic debut that sets the backstory for all brides-to-be.

The book shifts to a current perspective in the first chapter with the introduction of our main character, Sonya MacTavish. Sonya's beginnings in this book are certainly difficult, but it helps establish the premise for the rest of the story. Struggling with life events (not to be spoiled), Sonya receives an unexpected inheritance that includes a house. She quickly moves into the house only to quickly realize that all is not as it seems.

Is it his imagination that makes the objects move or is it something else? How many possible ghosts live in this house? Are they all friendly? Maybe, maybe not!

I really enjoyed the supernatural aspects of the book and can't wait to read the next installment, especially since it ends on a whim!

The 1001 Book Countdown is a passion project where I'm reading every book on Peter Boxall's 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die list. I combined all the editions on the list, so there are actually 1315 books in total to read. I started my reading project on YouTube in 2021 and documented my journey through the last 1001 books. I hope you enjoy watching me go through this MASSIVE project!
