Summary:
Last year at Cherringham High, and for three girls, that meant taking on the School Summer Challenge, a grueling fifty-mile trek across the Cotswolds, through thick woods, up steep hills, camping each night under the stars. But when one of them disappears in the middle of the night and is found dead in the morning, most assume it was a terrible accident. Was it really an accident? Jack and Sarah are not convinced – and soon discover that secrets and lies can have terrible consequences… and always leave a trace… Set in the peaceful English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together a duo of detectives improbable: the English. website designer Sarah and ex-American cop Jack. Exciting and deadly – but with a little tea – it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the standalone episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or curling up with a hot cup of tea. Co-writers Neil Richards (UK-based) and Matthew Costello (US-based) have been writing together since the mid-90s, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC , Eidos and Nintendo to name a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has supported numerous scripts for television series, computer games, radio shows and, most recently, the hit crime fiction series Cherringham. The audiobook's narrator, Neil Dudgeon, has appeared in numerous British television shows, including the roles of "DCI John Barnaby" in "Midsomer Murders" and "Jim Riley" in "The Life of Riley." He is also known for his film roles in "The Nativity", "Sorted" and "Son of Rambow". In 2012, Dudgeon starred as "Norman Birkett" in the BBC Radio 4 series Afternoon Play written by Caroline and David Stafford.
