Michael Andrew Fox, born June 9, 1961 in Alberta, is a Canadian-American actor, author and advocate. Known professionally as Michael J. Fox, he rose to fame for his role as Alex P. Keaton in the television series "Family Ties." He cemented his place in pop culture by playing Marty McFly in the “Back to the Future” film trilogy.
In 1991, at the age of 29, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Rather than retreat, he became a strong advocate for Parkinson's research and founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
He continued acting, starring in TV shows like "Spin City/" and making appearances in various projects before retiring in 2021.
Fox has been recognized for his contributions to theater and philanthropy, receiving several awards for his work.
Michael J. Fox's resilience, spirit and dedication to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease have made him a beloved figure. Her talent, activism and positive attitude continue to inspire others around the world.
