Must Farm: the Bronze Age settlement that suddenly burned down while digging for Britain
Archaeologists are excavating Must Farm in Cambridge, described as 'Bronze Age Pompeii', providing insight into prehistoric life more than 3,000 years ago. ‌‌Discovered on the edge of a quarry near Peterborough in 1999, the impeccably preserved settlement appears to have been abandoned and burned very suddenly around 900 BC. Ancient roadways and metalwork, including swords and spears, suggest a thriving industry and possible ritual offerings.

We delve deeper into the historical significance of the 'Fenwick Treasure', which is said to be associated with Boudicca's revolt against the Romans. We also explore finds from an Anglo-Saxon cemetery, revealing high-status female burials and unique finds like a woman buried with an entire cow.
