My birthday loot with Mijello Mission Titanium gouache and Art Toolkit
This year, I had something to look forward to in January (besides my birthday): I'm going to Mexico for a workshop with the International Watercolor Society! Yes, I know gouache isn't really watercolor, but I wanted to take some with me without adding bulk to my limited luggage. I've tried making travel palettes in gouache before, but the problem is that paint cracks, unlike watercolor, for the most part. Then I saw something that said Mijello Mission Titanium gouache doesn't crack, so I thought I'd try it. And my husband was looking for something to give me for my birthday. Perfect timing.

I wanted a shallow, light palette with large pans and that's where Art Toolkit came in. I love my little mini palette that I bought in California last year. This one is the largest Folio format with 15 square molds. You can purchase individual pans for these palettes or have them already loaded with pans like I did.

As always, I have a downloadable pdf of the samples on my website. I will also do an updated review of the paintings after my trip. I already notice some pros and cons. Subscribe so you don't miss it.
