KATE KHAVARI is the author of fiction ranging from historical mysteries to high fantasy epics. She owes her fascination with historical mysteries to her parents, as she spent most of her childhood memorizing the greatest jokes of Sherlock Holmes and Poirot. A former teacher, Kate has a deep appreciation for research and creativity, not to mention the multitasking ability she now relies on as an author and stay-at-home mom to her young son. She lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas with her husband, son, and a lovely garden that contains absolutely no poisonous plants.
DEANNA RAYBOURN, NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestselling novelist, is a 6th generation Texan with degrees in English and History from UTSA. Her novels have been nominated for numerous awards, including the Edgar, the RT Reviewers' Choice, the Agatha, two Dilys Winns, and the Last Laugh. She launched a Victorian detective series starring intrepid butterfly hunter Veronica Speedwell in 2015. This Edgar-nominated series is ongoing. Her first contemporary thriller, KILLERS OF A CERTAIN AGE, tells the adventures of four female assassins who must unite against the organization that would rather see them die than let them retire. It debuted at number 9 on the NEW YORK TIMES bestseller list.
