KATE KHAVARI is the author of fiction ranging from historical mysteries to high fantasy epics. She owes her fascination with historical mysteries to her parents, as she spent most of her childhood memorizing the greatest jokes of Sherlock Holmes and Poirot. A former teacher, Kate has a deep appreciation for research and creativity, not to mention the multitasking ability she now relies on as an author and stay-at-home mom to her young son. She lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas with her husband, son, and a lovely garden that contains absolutely no poisonous plants.
KATHARINE SCHELLMAN is a former actress and former political consultant. Today she writes the Lily Adler mysteries (Crooked Lane Books) and the Nightingale mysteries (Minotaur/St. Martin's Press). LAST CALL AT THE NIGHTINGALE, her latest release, is a PUBLISHERS WEEKLY Summer Reads selection for 2022 and a BOOKPAGE Most Anticipated Mystery and Suspense Book of 2022. Her debut novel, THE BODY IN THE GARDEN, was the one of SUSPENSE MAGAZINE's best books of 2020. and led to her being named one of BOOKPAGE's 16 Women to Watch in 2020. Her sequel, SILENCE IN THE LIBRARY, was hailed as "worthy of Agatha Christie or by Rex Stout. (LIBRARY JOURNAL, starred review) Katharine lives and writes in the mountains of Virginia in the company of her husband, her children, and the many houseplants she keeps accidentally murdering.
