Naomi Alderman is the bestselling author of The Power, which won the Baileys' Women's Prize for Fiction 2017. It was shortlisted for the 2017 Orwell Prize and chosen as one of the best books of the year by the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, NPR, Entertainment Weekly and the San Francisco Chronicle. The Power topped Barack Obama's list of his favorite books in 2017 and has been translated into more than thirty languages. Maggie Tokuda-Hall holds an MFA in creative writing from USF. She is the author of the 2017 Parents' Choice Gold Award-winning picture book, Also an Octopus, illustrated by Benji Davies. The Mermaid, the Witch and the Sea is her debut novel for young adults, which was an NPR, Kirkus, School Library Journal and Book Page Best Book of 2020. Its sequel, The Siren, The Song and The Spy comes out in September 2023. His graphic novel, Squad, is an Ignyte and Locus Award-nominated comic book, and his latest picture book, Love in the Library, was named the best picture book of 2022 by Book Page, School Library Journal, Booklist and Publisher's Weekly.
