About the Peninsular Campaign

The Peninsular Campaign is an independent campaign based on the conflict in the Spanish peninsula between 1811 and 1814. It was during this time that the Spanish resistance gave its name to its style of fighting: guerrilla warfare, or the "little war".

Play the campaign from three different perspectives, each with a unique feel:
• The French struggle to contain resistance while converting regions to their political alignment.
• The British are very limited in areas at first but receive enough income from Northern Europe and North America to be able to afford to liberate areas to the Spanish in exchange for guerrilla aid.
• The Spanish also have a limited starting position but have constant access to guerrillas for effective use on the battlefield against the French.

Choose one of the three nations involved – France, Great Britain or Spain – and experience one of the most intense conflicts of the Napoleonic era.
Main characteristics:

• A new independent campaign map of the Iberian Peninsula featuring 32 controllable regions.
• 5 new types of guerrilla units, recruitable by all nations, adept at stealth on the battlefield and with the additional possibility of deploying outside their faction's deployment zones: Tiradores (rifle infantry), Cazadores , Lanceros (lancer cavalry), Husares (light cavalry), Chief (general).
• 28 new units in total, spread across the three playable nations, including the British 95th Rifles, the French Vistula Uhlans and the Spanish Coraceros Espanoles.
• Two new agents to impose political conversion:
• Provocateurs (French and British nations only) have the ability to promote anti-opposition sentiment in regions, incite unrest, reduce search time, and passively spy.
• Priests (Spanish and Portuguese nations only) have the ability to promote anti-opposition sentiment in regions and incite unrest.
• A new guerrilla agent for the Spanish nation: similar to a spy but with the new ability to harass enemy armies – locking them in place for a turn and causing them to wear down.
• Political alignment system which sees the French struggling to increase pro-French sentiment across the peninsula.
About the Coalition Battle Pack

The Coalition Battle Pack includes 6 new units and contains the Battle of Friedland fought between France and Russia.
At the Battle of Friedland (June 14, 1807), when Napoleon's empire was at its peak, he took his chance and defeated Russia comprehensively, knocking it out of the war and ending the Fourth Coalition.
