One night, when she was eight years old, Roberta Grimes woke up and knew for sure that God did not exist. And she was terrified! Then a bright light flashed and a voice said, “You wouldn’t know what it’s like to have me if you didn’t know what it’s like to be without me.” I'll never leave you again." She thought it was nice. If you forget that God exists, they remind you. And she went back to sleep. She went on to graduate from Smith College and law school in Boston University, but this experience of light stayed with her.
She had to know where this light was coming from! So even as she pursued a career as a small business lawyer, married, and raised a family, Roberta spent more than half a century researching what really happens in and after death, as as a compulsive hobby. The result was her very enjoyable part-time career as a podcaster and speaker on the afterlife and the Gospels, as well as the author of seven nonfiction books, including The Fun of Dying and Liberating Jesus.
