nettle as an agricultural crop – permaculture!
http://www.permies.com Michael /"Skeeter/" Pilarski is a popular permaculture instructor well known as a first-class wilderness artisan. Skeeter shows off a piece of nettle he intentionally grows. It's fall. He talks about harvesting three crops from this plot every year. First, a harvest of edible leaves; then a harvest of seeds (urinary tract medicine) and finally a harvest of root cuttings (prostate medicine). He says he makes about ten dollars a pound for nettle root cuttings and the small plot will produce about 35 pounds.

Skeeter says nettles are a dynamic accumulator, accumulating iron and other minerals.
